Solution to Provide Seamless Integration of Businesses for Merged Company Following Acquisition of James Cable
TORONTO, CANADA, December 21, 2007 — Scorecard Systems Inc., the global leader in reporting and analysis solutions for cable, broadband and telecommunications companies, today announced that it had been selected by Broadstripe to provide the triple play provider with a more robust, accurate and rich subscriber and service analysis capability across the organization. Scorecard’s solutions, which drive deeper, more accurate analysis of customer activity, reduce commission and acquisition costs, and put powerful analytical ability directly in the hands of end-users, will provide such capability to all of Broadstripe’s regions and corporate departments.
Broadstripe, which recently announced the acquisition of James Cable, will be a top-20 cable MSO serving over 160,000 customers in 13 states, post-acquisition. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2008, subject to closing conditions.
“With the impending acquisition of James Cable, it is essential that we have one consistent set of business rules and product definitions across the merged company,” said Bill Shreffler, President and CEO of Broadstripe. “Scorecard’s solution will provide one version of the truth around all customer and service activity for our video, voice and data businesses in a single application. In addition, we believe that our data quality, integrity and speed of reporting will be greatly enhanced, providing us with significantly more insight into our customer, product and bundle performance,” he said.
“Broadstripe recognizes that the ability to efficiently manage the complexity of multiple lines of business, combined with the challenges of integrating tens of thousands of subscribers into a newly merged company, will have a direct impact on return on investment, the adoption rate of new services and ultimate customer satisfaction,” said Simon Marwood, Scorecard CEO. “Our Subscriber Analysis Application will deliver Broadstripe the ability to provide all of their management and analyst users with a single source system with both high level performance indicators and the ability to drill into customer detail, allow users to concentrate on analysis rather than building spreadsheets, and provide full auditability of reported results back to the billing system. The business rules built into our solution avoid the pitfalls of traditional subscriber tracking methodologies used within the industry–tending to overstate certain metrics while failing to provide detailed marketing information about services and bundles–and instead, generates highly detailed analytics on all facets of the customer and service activity.”
Scorecard Systems’ Subscriber Analysis Application, which has been deployed at dozens of service providers worldwide, and which today measures results for over 100 million subscribers, can be deployed within an Enterprise Data Warehouse or as a standalone analysis tool, allowing service providers to measure customer activity using a table-based, user-configurable business rules approach that leverages subscriber industry standards — all customized for an organization’s needs. The application provides:
* More detailed, accurate and rich reporting and analysis capabilities
* Reduction of commission overpayments and costs of acquisition
* Reduction of dealer and salesperson fraud
* Increased penetration of Value Added Services to existing customer base
The rules are applied automatically at the subscriber/service/billing code level, with the results made available to any number of query, reporting, OLAP or other tools.
